About School

After the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the then government of Mumbai initiated the 'Sarvodaya' scheme for the development of tribal communities and entrusted the responsibility of North Khandesh to Dhana Nanavare. He selected a village with tribal settlements and started a school in some places. After Dhana Nanavare's assassination, Madhukarrao Chaudhari and Bhausaheb Bonde took over the responsibility and established the 'Gaurkheda Panchkroshi Rachnatmak Karyakari Sahakari Mandal' using their own funds. In 1954, they started an ashram school in Pal, which opened up opportunities for tribal students to receive education in their own surroundings, leading to the gradual spread of education and the orientation of the tribal society towards education.

In 1970, the Gaurkheda organization transformed into the Satpuda Vikas Mandal, Pal, with Sunilbhai Bonde serving as the secretary. Various initiatives were introduced in the school. Subsequently, Shri. Shirishdada Chaudhari emphasized modernity and quality in education. For this purpose, teachers were trained, and various programs were conducted for students, including competitions and computer education. The excellent program gradually started in 1998. The organization's chairman, Shri. Shirishdada, and secretary, Ajit Patil, have been consistently making efforts to ensure the best possible education for tribal students.

The school has a beautiful and well-maintained building. It is located on the banks of the Suki River. There is a lovely and picturesque garden with abundant trees, making the campus environmentally friendly. The hostel is attached to the school. CCTV cameras are installed in the school premises. The officials of the organization, the school principal, and the teachers are always dedicated to providing guidance and encouragement to the students. Cultural competitions are organized to ensure the holistic development of the students. Many former students have excelled in their respective fields, such as becoming teachers, engineers, doctors, and other professions, while also serving as political and social leaders in society.

Secretary: Ashram School is not just for education, but it also aims to become a center for the development of the tribal community, as desired by Loksevak Balasaheb Chaudhari. We witness this vision when we visit the school. Our goal is to bring about a transformation through education. We are working under the leadership of Shri. Shirishdada to achieve this.

Principal: Loksevak Balasaheb Chaudhari used to tell us that education brings about social change. Therefore, our constant endeavor is to provide quality education to tribal students. Under the guidance of the organization's officials, I and my cooperative colleagues are actively involved in this work.
